Cedar Rapids, Iowa - January 9, 2009 – - Apache Hose & Belting announced the acquisition of Ex-Cel Belting, located in St. Louis, Missouri. The purchase was finalized on December 31, 2008. The combination of Apache Hose and Belting and Ex-Cel Belting brings two of the industry's most respected belt fabrication and distribution companies together.

Ex-Cel Belting will operate as a wholly-owned subsidiary of Apache Hose & Belting Co., Inc., and will keep the Ex-Cel brand name, however employees will immediately become active participants in Apache's Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) as well as full employee benefits. The Ex-Cel facility will remain in St. Louis, Missouri.

Ex-Cel Belting has been a significant player in the agricultural belt market, primarily serving baler belt equipment, since 1995.

''We constantly seek new growth opportunities for Apache which secure our position as a market leader. This acquisition is especially exciting because it will result in one of the most complete belt fabrication product offerings in the country.'' The acquisition of Ex-Cel Belting is the second for Apache in a little over a year. Hose Central was purchased in November of 2007, and continues to be a popular product line.

Apache Hose and Belting is a national market leader in fabrication and wholesale distribution of hose products, conveyor belting, fabricated belting products and retail industrial products. Apache's Belt Fabrication Division provides products to many of the leading equipment manufacturers in the United States.
