HOW YOU CAN CONTROL AND UPDATE YOUR INFORMATION?

In your Settings menu, you have the ability to determine the extent to which people can see your profile information. The privacy setting options include the following:

  1. Public

When you select “Public,” this means that your information will be visible to everyone, including people outside of the IndustryHuddle website. Choosing the “Public” option also means that your information can show up when someone does a search on a public search engine (such as Google).

  2. Semi-Private

When you select “Semi-Private,” this means that your information is visible to only users of the IndustryHuddle website that are signed in.

  3. Private

When you select “Private,” this means that only users that “HuddleUp” with you, or users that you “HuddleUp” with, will be able to see all of your information.

Some information will always be public and visible to anyone, regardless of the privacy setting you select. This “public information” includes information on your profile page such as your profile name or company name, profile picture, company identification (i.e., manufacturer, distributor, retailer, etc.), industry identifications (i.e., janitorial & sanitary supply, welding & gasses, etc.), general contact information, product categories, company information and selling points, industry associations, number of employees / sales volume, company officials, companies that are a member of your company’s huddle, sponsorships, and any advertisements that you purchase. These are treated just like information you choose to make public by selecting the “Public” setting in your settings menu.

As a general rule, you should assume that information posted on an Industry Page (a page that is dedicated to a specific industry) will be available to anyone signed into the IndustryHuddle website. On these pages, you will not be able to select an audience when you post something (for example: when you post in the classifieds area, discussion board, online sales area, etc.) and therefore these types of posts are always “Semi-Private” posts.

This helps your friends, customers, and potential customers find you. If you are uncomfortable sharing this information, you can always delete it, “close your account” on your settings page, or choose not to sign up to join IndustryHuddle.

Promotions and Their Visibility

As an IndustryHuddle user, you are able to upload “promotions” in the promotions area of your profile page. You are also able to select which types of companies (e.g., distributors, end-users, etc.) and which types of industries are allowed to view these promotions. A promotion will be hidden from any user that does not match your company-type and industry selections for that promotion. In addition to having your promotions accessible from your profile page, the promotions you create will also be displayed in the “promotions section” of the Industry Pages (pages that are dedicated to a specific industry) that you select. When creating or editing your promotion, you have the ability to select which Industry Pages, if any, that you would like your “promotions” to be displayed in.
